The 27th Congressional District, created by the independent citizens' commission established by a ballot measure approved by California voters in 2010, is comprised of most of the West San Gabriel Valley and the Foothills, including all or part of the communities of Alhambra, Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Claremont, Glendora, Monrovia, Monterey Park, Pasadena, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, Temple City, and north Upland.
